If you have ever wanted to learn how to tie freshwater and saltwater flies this is your chance! We have
an excellent instructor in Chuck Waterman. New Hampshire native and San Diego local, Chuck
has been fly fishing since he was 7 and began tying his own trout flies when he was 10. Chuck learned to tie from his father, a high-end commercial tyer and teacher for over 30 years.
Chuck “graduated” to Atlantic Salmon flies in his teens and became an accomplished professional
fly tier as an adult.
Chuck will be teaching how to tie a series of flies meant to take the beginning fly tier through
progressive steps in 6 short weeks. Upon completion of the class you should feel comfortable
tying a basic set of freshwater surface (dry) and subsurface (nymph) flies as well as some
saltwater patterns.
